Don't forget picture day is Wednesday! Parents received emails with picture forms, please print it out and send it with your child.
Reading: We started Stuart Little this week. Hopefully your child is enjoying the story, they are working very, very hard on their responses. We are still learning that everything we learn in writing applies to all other areas of our day.
Writing: We we will continue to work on our very first narrative writing. We will use these writings to compare to writing from the very end of our school year. I am confident that the students will see much growth in their own ability.
Projects: Our current project is Nevada regions. Your students will begin to create their maps on Monday with their assigned partners, they were very excited that there was limited research and writing on this project but then their stress level rose when they realized that they were going to be creating detailed maps of various aspects of Nevada. They are a funny bunch. This will be very difficult for some groups who have more details in their maps. But, our endurance has improved, we are using our time much better, and we are pushing through long periods of work time.
MAVERICK: Please send $5 with your child on Tuesday! We will be heading over to Maverick for a treat!
COMMUNITY SERVICE: We will be presenting members of our fire department with special treats this week, I will be sure to post pictures.
